We have 10 pumpkins so far! And yes, that is a snake skin but it was found on the dove field - not in the pumpkin patch. These pumpkins were harvested from a volunteer plant from last year, believe it or not. They will go back to the field for the pumpkin picking, but we had to save them from the deer. They have already found the patch and have started eating the leaves of some of the plants around the edges. We have lots more pumpkins growing and have not weeded in the hopes that the weeds will hide the pumpkins from the deer. The pumpkins just may be a little smaller this year. We are looking forward to October and some cooler weather!
