We come to Birmingham every year for the SEC Baseball tournament. This year was Mason's year. Our first game was Thursday morning. Unca and his friend, Thomas went with us. In the 5th inning, Mason won a huge Chick-fil-A cow. He was thrilled!! Then that evening, Unca and his friend Brett, introduced Mason to the Ole Miss team. They even signed a ball for him. I am not sure who was more excited about the signed ball, Mason or Rob. Fuller Smith, Ole Miss's DH, was not there when the team signed the ball so he came and found Mason in the stands and asked him if he could sign the ball too. Where was my camera!! Mason was beside himself! He could not stop talking about Fuller Smith and his signed baseball. Rob even became an Ole Miss fan for the tournament. Mason and I buzzed back to Jackson for Jett's birthday party (we have missed it every year because of the tournament) which was so much fun! Then we buzzed back to Birmingham for more games. The only disappointment for Mason was that he never caught a foul ball - not that we didn't try. So after the game Sunday, Brett took Mason over by the Ole Miss dugout and one of the players gave him a ball. Thank you, Brett! When we were not at the games, Mason practiced batting with the new bat he got for his birthday. Unca taught him the stance and how to "squish the bug." On Sunday, Rob, Unca, Brett, and Laura Beth took him to the church across the street from Mom's to practice. Mason had so much fun!! It was a great weekend!
